5 Unique & Fun Activities You Should Try This December

Hey readers! Since it is officially December and the holidays are just right around the corner, I decided to compile a list of uniquely entertaining activities that you all should definitely try out this December!

1.) Make Gingerbread Recipes

Gingerbread is such a classic flavor during this time of year, so take something simple and bring it to the next level by creating a unique treat using gingerbread.

Here are a few examples:

  • Cake

  • Cookies (of course!)

  • Ice Cream

  • Donuts

2.) Go Holiday-Light Sightseeing

This is a very traditional, yet one of my favorite holiday festivities! Grab your family or friends and drive around town looking for houses with the best Christmas lights. It's quite a beautiful sight to see, especially at this time of year! Some public locations also put holiday lights on display for customer view. Be sure to check your local news to see what light shows / events are around you.

3.) Host a Holiday Party

Everyone loves being around friends, family, music, games, and snacking on delicious treats. Combine all together and host your own holiday party. You can do this for a specific December holiday or even New Years! You can really personalize your gathering to any interest or theme.

It doesn't necessarily have to count as a party, you can invite a few close friends over and just have a festive get-together!

Here are some ideas:

  • Play anonymous gift-giving games like "Secret Santa" and "White Elephant." You can click on the links above to learn how to play
  • Search the internet for some festive and yummy snack ideas
  • Create a music playlist specialized for the theme of your party
  • Watch some holiday movies and cartoons

4.) Do the Candy Cane Challenge

Candy canes are a perfect holiday treat. You could try this game upon your friends or family. You could even try this at any holiday gatherings you may be attending!

This is essentially a game where someone goes to the store and buy an assortment of uniquely flavored candy canes. Blindfolded, two opponents (one from each team) will taste and attempt to guess the flavor or the candy cane. Whoever guesses correctly, gets a point. The team or player with the most points at the end, earn a prize.

5.) Make Your Own Hot Beverages

I saw this idea on Pinterest for a hot chocolate bar (which is adorable by the way), and it got me thinking how many varieties of hot drinks there are - coffee, tea, hot chocolate, mochas, lattes, etc. The list goes on.

I think that creating something of your own shows a lot of personality by the flavors you choose or the ingredients you pick, so get creative! Don't know where to start? Search the internet for ideas! Not to mention that you get a delicious treat at the end!

Those were five of my personal ideas that I wanted to share with you all for the month of December. I apologize that this post is up very late, but I have been extremely caught up with school. But now that I am on my winter break, I can spend a little more time developing these holiday posts since I do like to spend my time on them.

Thank you for your patience, and if you decide to try any of these out send me a picture on Twitter! Thanks! Have a great holiday and a happy new year!
